Before We Begin:
Before therapy begins, you will receive a therapy contract setting out how we will work together. This ensures that expectations are clear and that you can make an informed decision before commencing therapy.
The contract will cover:
- Confidentiality: How your information is protected and the circumstances in which confidentiality may need to be broken.
- Session arrangements: The length and frequency of sessions, along with how online appointments will take place.
- Fees and cancellations: The cost of therapy, payment arrangements and the cancellation policy.
- Professional boundaries: Clear boundaries that help create a safe, respectful and ethical therapeutic relationship.
- Data protection: How your personal details and therapy records are stored and managed.
- Online therapy arrangements: What we will do if there are technical difficulties or a loss of connection.
- Emergency procedures: Contact details and agreed steps should concerns arise during online therapy.
What I Promise
- To offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space.
- To listen with care, empathy and respect.
- To explain the therapy contract clearly and answer any questions before you agree to it.
- To work collaboratively and at your pace, without pressure.
- To communicate openly about confidentiality, boundaries, fees and any changes to our arrangements.
- To practise ethically, maintain professional boundaries and work within my level of competence.
- To regularly review our work together and remain responsive to your needs.
- To be honest if another professional or service may be better suited to supporting you.
Although no therapist can guarantee a particular outcome, I promise to approach our work with compassion, professionalism and integrity.
